Guiding Young Parents Toward Success

The Empowering Teens as Parents program is designed to help pregnant and parenting teens in Lake, Porter, Newton, and Jasper Counties build strong foundations for their families. Through school-based and home-based services, credentialed educators provide support in child health and development, positive parenting practices, and access to essential resources.

ETAP’s primary goals are to:

  • Enhance parenting skills and knowledge of child development.
  • Promote healthy behaviors for improved pregnancy outcomes.
  • Prevent subsequent pregnancies through education and support.
  • Foster confidence and emotional well-being in young parents.

With a focus on early intervention and prevention, ETAP empowers young parents to thrive—both as caregivers and as individuals pursuing their educational and career goals.
