Supporting Smoke-Free Pregnancies for Healthier Outcomes

Smoke Free Moms program at Mental Health America of Northwest Indiana offers free, evidence-based support to help pregnant women in Lake County quit smoking. Through four prenatal sessions, participants receive guidance on smoking cessation strategies, nutrition, and stress management. Those who remain smoke-free earn monthly vouchers for free diapers for up to 12 months after the baby’s birth.

Quitting smoking provides immediate and lasting benefits:

  • More oxygen for your baby within just one day.
  • Lower risk of preterm birth and respiratory issues.
  • Better chances of bringing your baby home with you.
Reduced risk of heart disease, stroke, and lung diseases for you.
  • Improved energy and easier breathing.
  •  Confidence in making a positive change for you and your baby.

Ready to quit? Call (219) 937-7733 x200 or email info@mhanwi.org to enroll.
